Overview

Tomáš Berdych is a Czech professional tennis player. Berdych is a fan of ice hockey, and his favourite team is the Detroit Red Wings. At age 8 he reached the final of the top young boys of Czech Republic in Pardubiceand won. Berdych soon became a top junior, winning the Czech Republic U-12 Junior Title. He then moved to the city of Prostějovwhere there were more practice partners and better coaches.

  • Berdych began playing tennis at the age of 5, and by the age of 8 he reached the final of the top young boys of Czech Republic winning the Czech Republic U-12 Junior Title.
  • His favourite surface to play on is hard court and his strengths are forehand and serve.
  • He was part of a record-setting doubles match that lasted 7 hours and 2 minutes at the 2013 Davis Cup. He and Lukas Rosol defeated Marco Chiudinelli and Stanislas Wawrinka in the match 6–4, 5–7, 6–4, 6–7, 24–22.
